Title: Materiel Logistics Reform - eBusiness a Critical Enabler

Abstract: The Defence Materiel Organisation has been progressing down a path of increasing availability of eBusiness capability.  This was initiated by the Strategic Reform Program and continues as part of the ongoing DMO reform agenda.  To achieve the business outcomes identified to support current and future platforms, this presentation will examine the progress of current initiatives and provide an insight into the future eBusiness roadmap.

Biography: Wayne Threlfell is the Director Inventory Reform within DMO Reform Division delivering a key transformational part of the Materiel Logistics reform to achieve the efficiency savings required of DMO.  The scope of reform impacts all aspects of inventory and sustainment.  Wayne has used the last 3 years to drive Defence to be the leading Federal Government organisation in the use of ePurchasing and is now turning to the wider use of eBusiness to support Materiel Logistics.

In previous roles, Wayne has been the desk officer for tech pubs policy in Defence (including updating DEF {AUS} 5629B and adoption of S1000D) as well as representing Australia on the S1000D governing body and supporting working groups.  Wayne created the current SGML based administrative documents publishing system in the late 1990s that is still being used by Defence today.
